Tyree Hyman 2, RN
I came to the ER with an abscess on my kidney. I was informed that my potassium levels were way too low.
Instead of giving me an eight-hour IV of potassium, Tyree suggested that we mix it in orange juice. It allowed my IV to be used for antibiotics. He always had my best interest at heart.
At one point, I asked for crackers. I hadn’t eaten for days. My husband was with me the entire time, and Tyree brought crackers for him too, which was very thoughtful.
Later, I became nauseous, but it was too early to take more nausea medicine. Tyree was able to come up with a plan. He looked up whether it could be titrated so that I could get relief more quickly.
Lastly, I have had both knees replaced. At home, I sleep with a pillow between them so it is not uncomfortable. The ER was short on pillows, so he brought a folded-up heated blanket, which was the perfect thing in the freezing ER. He even surprised me with another one later.
Tyree is a wonderful nurse, and we felt very blessed to be served by him.
