Tzu-Ling was nominated for the DAISY Award because of the sincere compassion and loving care she showed to a terminal patient and his family.
The patient was with ventilator, Tzu-Ling communicated with him with great patience. And tried to reduce the patient's physical and mental suffering with proper nursing interventions, empathy and prayers. Tzu-Ling spent much time to discuss the patient's advance directives and condition with the patient's family and comfort their heart at the same time.
I have admired Tzu-Ling's professional practice, support and compassionate nursing when she with patients. She is also an excellent patient advocate and demonstration of quality patient care. Furthermore, she is a role model for younger nurses. She is like a mentor for young nursing staffs. They know Tzu-Ling is reliable and accountable when they reach for help. With her maturity and patience, she is just like an anchor in everybody's heart at work.
Her warm and easy-going personality is a great bonus when work in our hectic ward. And I truly believe that Tzu-Ling is an asset to colleagues, patients and this hospital.
