When I got here, I was feeling horrible. Ulises Perez made me feel as if I was going to be alright, and he made me laugh, talked with me, and listened to me even though I knew he had others to get to. He gave me the time I needed and responded to me as if we had been friends for many years. That's how I felt about him and our conversations. He brightened my day. Each day I was there when Ulises came into the room, I lit up because he brings joy and happiness into my room in the mornings. He answered all my questions and never cut me off, even when this nurse knew he had to keep moving, but he always came back for our conversation. He should have been a counselor, but Ulises is needed to ensure patients feel safe in this field. Ulises could easily be my friend. I will never forget my experience in this hospital; he really impacted how I received this experience at Holy Cross. I haven't had a stay in a hospital for 45 years. He gave me comfort and knowledge on how not to end up back here, info on the meds I was taking, and why. Ulises is easy to talk to and trust. I thank Ulises for being such a genuine, caring, thoughtful individual to me, a patient he did not know but acted like we were best friends. Thanks for being you.
