Unsong is the epitome of an excellent, caring, and compassionate Med/Surg nurse. She gives of herself unselfishly every single shift she works. Clearly, these days, given the pandemic, it is not 'business as usual;' however, Unsong sets the example every day for her peers utilizing Evidenced Based Nursing Practice and a heart that understands the complexity of both the medical and emotional needs of her patients and their families. She approaches her work with a positive attitude and understanding of illnesses that may have affected her patients in devastating ways. Day in and day out, the compassion and kindness she provides to her patients are immeasurable. Any time a nurse on the floor needs assistance with their patients or even just an IV started Unsong is there without complaint and with a willingness to help. She genuinely loves what she does, and it shows through her enthusiasm to educate others in a way that makes them feel accomplished and competent. She voluntarily precepts a new graduate nurse each time one is hired, sharing with them her expertise in nursing.
