March 2016 Honoree
usha parekh, BSN, RN
Usha demonstrates commitment to implementation to organizational goals through her involvement in the pressure ulcer prevalence study that is carried out quarterly at JCMC according to NDNQI guidelines. She has been participating for many years. When I assigned Usha to a different team she graciously accepted. Together we turned and assessed each person on the critical care units. Usha greeted each patient with a warm smile and a caring voice. She explained the purpose of our visit and comfortably assisted them to roll over. Her authentic approach won over even the most hesitant.
Usha also works tirelessly on her unit (7W) in staff and charge positions always with a smile. She has welcomed me to JCMC and helped to ease my transition. Whenever I come to the unit for rounding or a consult, she is most accommodating. She is diligent in following pressure ulcer prevention strategies to prevent HAPU's.
As a team player, she assists all members of the health care needs.
