A patient in ICU was getting cabin fever and depressed. Vee called for an order to take the patient outside. Every shift she worked, she took the patient outside for fresh air and sunshine. One day, I walked into ICU and heard music coming from the patient’s room. Vee had the patient up and dancing with her husband, preparing them for their dance at their daughter’s wedding in November. It truly brought tears to my eyes. This is a true example of what the DAISY Award represents.
