I floated over to this unit during my critical care course for more experience. The Nurse I was able to work with was amazing. Very knowledgeable and eager to train me. She was so amazing because of her bedside manner. She cared for this critical care patient for over a week and I was such a patient advocate. She cared for the patient with so much passion, rarely taking a second or a small break for herself.

This patient was on CCRT and was very sick. Valentina talked to the family over the phone and she was very quick to respond to doctors and recommend doctors to do these labs and order these vasopressors. It was great to see her anticipate every need for this patient. It was also very nice to observe a nurse work so difficult/hard to keep this patient alive and do it so effortlessly and compassionately. I hope to be like her when I get more experience.
