Valerie Burgess is an outstanding example of a professional, compassionate, and caring nurse who showed me that she had much more than a job. I was physically and emotionally beat up when I was admitted. Valerie not only took care of others, but she made sure I was okay. When she had time, she was with me talking and reassuring me things would work out. When I was admitted from the ER, Valerie was the first to greet me and explain medically what would be taking place on the unit. Valerie has a positive attitude and demonstrated it when talking, helping, and caring for this grateful Navy Veteran. Fist bump and a hug to Valerie Burgess.
