Val received a DAISY Award nomination from a former patient's family, who she navigated through a trying time. Val goes out of her way to make each of her patients feel special, keeps them well informed of their plan of care, and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to improve her patients' outcomes. She is the caretaker to not only her patients but to all the staff of 4 South as well. She serves her patients with compassion, personalizes her care with each one of her patients, and is a shining example of what a DAISY Award nurse should be.
