There was one particular instance where I had a family member who was having a mental health crisis but had no idea what to do. I called her in the middle of the night because I did not know where to turn and did not want to call 911 out of fear of how the situation would go. She told me not to worry, and she got up and made her way over to my family's house. She spent over 2 hours doing a house visit, completing a psychiatric evaluation for him. She was thoughtful, thorough, and compassionate. She helped my family orchestrate an intervention and treatment plan to ensure that he got the help that he needed and deserved. I am forever grateful to now call her a friend and respected healthcare professional colleague.
