My son had a very invasive appendectomy surgery done in December. He was in the hospital for 18 days. Many of the nurses who took care of him during this time were outstanding but Valerie was absolutely exceptional and stood out above all others. Her professionalism and demeanor established a level of trust and comfort for my son during his difficult recovery and anything that made his time in the hospital easier for him was greatly appreciated. Not only was Valerie responsive to his needs, but she had a "bedside manner" and a positive demeanor that just stood out from among the other nurses. During Devin's 18 days in the hospital, Valerie was his nurse for about five or six of those days, and on the days where we knew she didn't have the day off, one of the first questions he had was, "Who is my nurse today? I hope it's Valerie." My wife and I are eternally grateful to all of the doctors and nurses who literally saved our son's life. We owe them a debt we know we can never repay. It is our wish that Valerie be recognized for the fantastic job she does in the care she provides for others. She is truly an exceptional Nurse.
