Van is awesome! She energetically greeted us upon our arrival, introduced herself and explained her plan for the day-then she asked for our input. She checked on us frequently re-explained information from doctors and provided compassion and empathy as well as laughter to make our 1st day on the unit tolerable. She constantly reassured us and attended to my husband's needs before I needed to ask. I have worked in a hospital for over 20 years and she exemplifies an Extraordinary Nurse!
