While monitoring the dining room during lunch and feeding another individual, Nurse Dean noted another individual coughing differently, as if choking, and went over to assist her and used a spoon to her lips so her mouth would open. She noted something in her mouth and quickly reached and removed the item, which was a plastic half-dollar coin. The individual did not swallow the item, and no injury or harm was caused to the individual.

KUDOS to Ms . Dean for being very observant, noticing the changes in the individual, and taking immediate action.
