In an age where so much communication is done telephonically or via computers, a serious danger also exists that human touch can be left out of the conversation. Sometimes, we forget we are dealing with human beings. Technology can be so impersonal.
Vemma is helping connect the dots on scheduling appointments for a second opinion. I felt like I was being lost in the process because I couldn't see a person. All I was dealing with was/is voices. Voices are good. I am glad we have them. However, when in crisis or just difficulty, it is also important to be able to see a person. Getting my appointment is not so easy, and I have to rely heavily on technology. I'm just not good at technology.
However, when I spoke with Vemma, she was able to communicate compassion and genuine interest in resolving my particular issue. She even made me laugh. I needed that. Laughter is good.
I believe that Vemma represents the best of ANMC. She is a good professional role model for all.
