Because of Verna, I was able to spend time with my mother in person on multiple occasions.
"We must find the time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives." JFK
My world was turned upside down. I woke up to find a missed call from my mother, only to not be able to get hold of her when trying to call her back. I found out later that she had been admitted to KGH for various reasons and would be staying in the hospital until the Doctors could figure out best how to treat her.
The nurses on the 4th floor were all so very kind, and always gave me updates and even let me talk to my mother and face time her as well. The hardest part is of course not being able to see her, because of COVID. As my mother's condition continuously did not get better, I realized that she was getting depressed. I felt as though my mother needed to physically see me, touch me, hear me, and more importantly know that I was not giving up on her.
Because of Verna, I was able to spend time with my mother in person on multiple occasions. I just wanted to let her know that because of that time I was able to spend with her, I feel as though she knew I wasn't giving up. Thank you Verna for allowing me to have the moments with my mom, so I could encourage her and let her know I was not giving up on her. Thank you also for talking to me and showing me compassion during this difficult time. Being in the hospital during COVID is probably one of the worst times to be in the hospital, but I want you to know that you made a difference in my mom's life by allowing me to see her, and for that, I am forever grateful for.
