I was a patient under Veronica Leefers' care during my stay at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles. She was a constant source of support for me and my family. During a weekend of particular difficulty, she rallied on my behalf and was able to secure a visit from a staff vascular surgeon, who gave us hope for recovery. Veronica's approach and demeanor were very comforting to me as a patient. She kept my comfort and my level of confidence at the forefront of her actions. She was always on her A-game. She would even stop by to see if she could do anything for me as her shift came to an end. Veronica epitomizes a true patient advocate. I feel blessed and fortunate that I was under her care and in good hands.
