Veronica embodies the traits of professionalism, compassion, and excellence in her daily activities at the Medical Center. One such activity involved a patient who was being admitted to the facility through the emergency center but required HD treatment prior to being placed on a unit. This gentleman was upset and very reluctant to be admitted because he was concerned about the well-being of his 87 year old mother. He had been attempting to reach her by phone but was unable to make contact. Veronica assured the gentleman that she would go check on his mother when her shift was finished. She drove to the mother's house on the other side of town as she had promised. Veronica was able to make contact with his mother and determined that she was okay. She communicated back to the gentleman that his mother was fine and that she had informed her of his admission to the hospital. Just this simple act of kindness enabled the gentleman to rest easy and allow the hospital to treat his condition.

This is but one example of Veronica's commitment to her patients and the Medical Center. She is truly an extraordinary RN who exemplifies professional excellent and compassion that extends beyond what is commonplace.
