Veronica has been working on the inpatient unit at Hughes Spalding for several years. She is a quiet person by nature and listens well. Families and patients appreciate these qualities about her and so do the staff members who work with her. Sickle Cell patients can be quite challenging and she works with these patients well. Veronica was able to convince a very rebellious teenager to follow the rules at HS, which the patient did until the patient aged out of the pediatric system. Empathy is Veronica's strong suit, but so is finding humor in most situations. Veronica is a quiet and steady leader on the HS Inpatient Unit. She is well respected by staff and physicians alike. She goes out of her way to help others with patient care and can always be counted on during stressful days. Veronica has very high standards and maintains those standards through her care of patients and her working relationships with her staff and physician staff. Veronica is a nurse's nurse and I am proud to work with her!
