April 2022 Honoree
Veronica Y Dominguez, MSN, RN
Miss. Veronica Dominguez is an exceptional nurse who deeply cares for the health and well-being of every patient. She listens to the complexity of every patient's health issues. Paying attention to the behavioral health issues of every patient without losing sight of the overall psychological as well as the physiological health of the patient. Carefully she reviews patients' physiological issues of signs of significance to assure the symptoms, responses, and medication interactions are not confused by those of behavioral health. For example, someone who is on steroids may at times exhibit mood changes, depression, and anxiety when experiencing withdrawal symptoms in the process of leaving steroids for others thru behavioral health conditions, like autoimmune diseases. She quickly associated my depression, anxiety, and my behavioral medications response to my other health conditions and my other medications responses. She was able to coordinate with the VA psychiatrist to stop, modify, and initiate new behavioral health medications to better manage my insomnia, depression, and anxiety. She served as an emotional coach to encourage me to continue living. She explained everything crystal clear, offering her services 24/7. Her steadfast and untiring efforts have been a key factor in my behavioral health recovery. Patients owe Miss. Vernonia Dominguez their lives. Her vast clinical experience can't be compared to any other nurse in the VA field.
Thank you, Veronica Y, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
