Vershawn is not only an amazing nurse, but also an amazing person. Last month she was caring for a patient who had recently found out that she had lost her baby. While on L&D for the induction and the delivery of her stillborn baby, the patient found out that she and her boyfriend's apartment had caught fire and they had lost everything. Vershawn cared for this patient during her stay on the unit and visited her multiple times while she was on Post Partum unit. Vershawn got the patient and her boyfriend's clothes sizes and created signs to post in the nurses lunge, asking for donations. She was able to collect bags of clothes, shoes and multiple gift cards to help them through their traumatic situation.
Vershawn is so caring and empathetic and goes out of her way daily to provide amazing nursing care to each patient she encounters. Her kind gesture is just a small example of the kind of person she is.
