Ms Laynesa RN entered government service on 09 July 2012 at Philippine Airforce, 580th ACWW as contractual employee, she then accepted Nursing Attendant designation on the following year 06 December 2013. In 19 August 2016 she was promoted to Nurse 1 position at Wallace Air Station Medical Dispensary (WASMI). Throughout her service, she wholeheartedly performed her duties and responsibilities way beyond expectations. She became a valuable personnel who is considered as institutional custodian of WASMI. She is pure in her intentions and gives utmost care towards our patients and has always been flexible to any healthcare challenges she faces. She renders professionalism, empathy, care, and compassion throughout her service in WASMI. She always demonstrated reliability, leadership, kindness, and patience.
Ms. Laynesa of Wallace Air Station Medical Infirmary (WASMI) embodies the highest standards of nursing excellence through her clinical expertise, compassionate heart, and unwavering dedication to patient-centered care. Her depth of knowledge and strong clinical skills enable her to respond swiftly and accurately in both routine and high-pressure situations. She consistently applies evidence-based practices while staying up to date with the latest in nursing protocols, ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality patient outcomes. Ms. Laynesa is known across the unit for her consistency in delivering exceptional care.
Whether handling OPD, ER or assisting during medical missions, she brings precision, empathy, and professionalism to every encounter. Her patients never feel like just a number—they feel valued, heard, and genuinely cared for. She takes time to explain procedures, listen to concerns, and adapt care based on each patient’s needs and preferences. She is an active contributor to the development and implementation of innovative practices that uplift both patients and the healthcare team. A prime example is her creation of health infographics, which the unit uses to educate patients and their families during consultations and health campaigns. These infographics are also presented through teleconference lectures and forwarded to different social media platforms, allowing health information to reach a wider audience—even beyond the confines of WASMI. She is also one of the contributors to the WASMI Nursing Research titled “Assessing the Potential Health Risk for Wallace Air Station Personnel Exposed to AFP Radar Technology: A Review and Analysis”. This nursing research was presented to PAF Nursing Research Forum 2024 and gained appreciation from the higher headquarters.
Additionally, she is also responsible for conducting the patient census and recording morbidity data to ensure timely and accurate reporting. She is prudent in reporting Notifiable diseases to the OCNAF and the City Health Officer in the AOR. Ms. Laynesa's ingenuity also shines in her quality improvement efforts. She recycled plastic envelopes and repurposed them into organized filing systems for patient records—a low-cost, eco-friendly solution that improved workflow, reduced clutter, and enhanced record accessibility. This simple yet impactful initiative demonstrated her ability to turn everyday materials into effective tools for patient care management.
