A patient was on comfort care to go to hospice and Vibhita had the patient for three consecutive days prior. Vibhita had made a connection with the patient, providing her comfort and a warm hand to hold while she made the decision to transfer from the critical care setting to hospice. The patient trusted Vibhita and that makes all the difference for someone in this stage of life. The patient knew Vibhita was going to be off the following shift and was visibly upset. On her day off, Vibhita brought in flowers for the patient and sat and talked with her and her husband to ease their minds.
