Vicki Lowe was nominated by a recent patient who delivered a baby boy at Saint Agnes. The Patient shared that she was having difficulty getting her son to breastfeed and was apprehensive about similar issues with her first child. Lowe visited this patient and within three minutes had corrected her technique. Lowe provided clear and easy explanation and "invaluable encouragement". Lowe helped her patient practice several times and stayed well past the end of her shift.

Now that her baby is breastfeeding properly and gaining weight with no problems, the patient says, "I feel like I have been given a tremendous gift, not the least of which is the erasure of the grief that I still felt over not being able to breastfeed my first child."
