The post-natal care from the entire nursing team was exceptional, but absolutely no one compared Vicki. She was calming, confident, and there for me. She cared for my wounds, and my heart, and my family. She helped the day we introduced my two-year-old son to his younger brother, and she held my mom as she cried. The entire experience with this nurse felt like a miracle. She demonstrated excellence in both the softer side of nursing (care, comfort, patient advocacy) and the technical demands of the profession. She helped care for all of me: body, heart, and soul.
