Vicki VandenHeuvel has been selected as the Daisy Award winner. She is a charge nurse on the Post Partum unit. The following information was contained in her nomination forms--treats all patients, staff, and visitors with absolute dignity and respect. She consistently exhibits a gentle and compassionate nature that shows she really cares. Vicki is a constant resource for our patients that have lost a newborn or toddler. She makes a difference in many lives by preserving memories for our parents that have suffered losses and she touches the hearts of all that she comes in contact with. If there are angels on earth, she is one of them.

Today, she visited a mother and delivered a memory box and spent time with her talking and offering resources to her for her grief. Vicki always makes time to console. She displays extraordinary compassion and can be recognized as an outstanding role model as a nurse.
