Vickie Shifflett, RN

Vickie has always been fabulous, whether it be by explaining A’s medication or treatment plans and goals. She has also helped to interpret medical terminology after doctors left the room and put it in terms that A and I understand. But most notably, Vickie helped to calm A’s nerves this past Thursday when A was experiencing anxiety. A wanted to sleep but was afraid to fall asleep for fear that he would die in his sleep and not wake up. I was at work, so Vickie took the time to hold A’s hand, comfort him and reassure him that she was sitting right outside his door. And eventually, she talked him into trying some anti-anxiety medication which would help give him some relief.
