I have severe allergies to pain meds and must be careful as to what is given to me; during my recent stay, there was confusion about the scheduling of my meds. When I was reviewing my allergies with Victoria she noticed that there was too much time in between doses and that they may be interfering with other meds I was taking after surgery. She took the time to talk to me and my husband about my background, meds, and why I was still in pain. As she began to outline what scheduling of my meds would be like, I felt like a weight had been taken off of me.
For the next few shifts before my release, she made sure I had my meds on time and in order. I could see that she was concerned about me and once I was on schedule, she said to me that she felt that SHE could now take a breath! Her devotion to her job, understanding and patience and most of all, compassion that she showed were overwhelming.
