Victoria took charge when we realized that the anesthesiologist who administered the epidural neglected to perform a nerve block, and my daughter had received multiple unnecessary doses of Dilaudid, fentanyl, and so much more. She called the surgeon, comforted the patient and reinstilled confidence in the system and process that had been absent. Our daughter should have been discharged by 2 pm, but instead, she remained in PACU until after 6:30 pm without a meal, without someone to listen, and without support until Victoria came on board.
