Tori is an exceptional nurse, but she really went above and beyond when taking care of one of our ER patients. This patient has been in our hospital many times. He has cerebral palsy and can be difficult to understand at times. Tori takes her time and really listens to her patient and tries to make him feel heard. This patient even stated, "She's one of the best nurses I have ever had, and she really takes time to listen and understand me."

It is very easy when we are in a rush to smile and nod when it's hard to understand someone. Tori really took her time with this patient, making him feel cared for and important. She could have easily rushed through her care and done the minimum to communicate. Tori is a great overall nurse, but this really showcased her caring nature.
