My husband was admitted to the hospital with some pretty significant and debilitating symptoms. It had been going on for months and at 41 years old we were very confused and worried. The night he was admitted I received a phone call that my husband's brother had taken his own life. I didn't know what to do. How do I tell my husband? How will he react? I told his nurse Victoria right away. She was very empathetic, reassuring, and respectful to my decision to wait to tell my husband. She helped me with how and when I could tell him and was so wonderful with my husband and myself. I told him and, he was diagnosed with cancer the same day. The worst day of our lives, but so grateful for the compassion we received from Victoria. We were lucky enough to have her both days.
