Tori was able to help me understand things from a hospital/institution perspective and provided insight that helped me feel more comfortable with the treatment plan while ensuring that my child was getting the necessary care and that our concerns would be addressed.
Tori provided exceptional care to our 2-year-old son and me (mom) during his hospitalization.

Upon the start of her first shift, she took time to build a relationship with our toddler and gain his trust and admiration. She spoke to him on his level while explaining things and made sure he felt comfortable with her. My son immediately formed a bond with her and sought her out in the room during rounding when the room was full of people. It was clear he always felt more at ease when she was in the room and would snuggle up to her the same way he does to close family and friends. She went above and beyond to learn what my son’s interests were. She took him to get popsicles, and when he could eat again, made sure breakfast was waiting when he returned from his final test.

Tori was also an exceptional teacher to the nursing students shadowing her, giving them great learning opportunities, and helping them feel confident while with us. She was our nurse for 2-day shifts, and every time she came into our room, she treated our son as if he was her only patient. She took time, answered questions, and consistently worked to make my son feel safe and comfortable in every phase of his stay.

When I had serious concerns about the symptoms our child was experiencing, she listened to me. She walked through what he was experiencing, how she would present the information to the doctors, how I could share my concerns with the doctors, and what the next steps would look like. Tori was able to help me understand things from a hospital/institution perspective and provided insight that helped me feel more comfortable with the treatment plan while ensuring that my child was getting the necessary care and that our concerns would be addressed.

It was just me in the hospital with him, and she went above and beyond to make sure that I, as his caregiver, felt confident in his care and made sure I had everything I needed for his stay. She cared about both of us and truly made me feel like my son was in the best hands with her.

I cannot express how lucky we feel that she was our nurse during our stay. As a former healthcare worker, and someone who works closely with the field now, I have met very few nurses that show this level of care and compassion for patients the way Tori does. She is a truly exceptional nurse, and our family is beyond grateful for the incredible support she provided to me and my son.

I believe that Tori exemplifies the true definition of a good nurse. Her diligence and hard work do not go unnoticed. Whether it was playing paw patrol, getting the right color popsicle, or advocating for us to be heard about concerns we had about our son, we could count on her. We will never be able to thank her for everything she did to support us during our stay.
