My whole experience leading up to delivery and the delivery itself was more comfortable and less stressful because of nurse Tori. She made sure I was heard and that my birthing wishes were honored. I specifically requested to wait on certain interventions and to be more mobile, and she advocated for that. I was able to decide when I wanted to start certain processes of my induction because she listened and voiced that to other members of my care team. When labor got more difficult, she held my hand and spoke to me in a caring way that helped me relax. If it weren’t for her, I don’t think I would have felt as strong as I did when delivering my daughter. Not only was Tori an amazing advocate, but she also made sure that memories were captured of my daughter before she got taken to the NICU. Her taking the time to take pictures of my daughter for me further showed me how much she cared about my well-being and thought about more than just my physical care. She truly is an amazing nurse who cares and connects with her patients.
