I want to rave about the awesome care my daughter received from an L&D nurse named Victoria Phillips. Let me start by saying I am a registered nurse of 28 years, I have 2 daughters one of which is a registered Respiratory Therapist and the other one is a registered nurse who works at your facility. I said that to say I know the healthcare field and I know when someone has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Victoria Phillips did that for us in my hour of helplessness, she was there in the background to assist us. We had several plans for my daughter's first baby. During the 12 hours of labor, they seesawed back-and-forth of doing a vaginal delivery or a C-Section. This shattered my daughter because she wanted to do skin-to-skin and several other things.
When I gave up Victoria continued to encourage us and her co-workers about the skin to skin delivery. At the end of the day, a C-Section was done but my daughter got to do skin-to-skin and her husband got to cut the umbilical cord. Now I know many people would say that all L&D nurses have that calling upon their life but that is not so. I know several different types of nurses including L&D nurses and I know this person went above and beyond for us. Please understand my personal feelings when I say Victoria Phillips is a true DAISY Nurse.
