December 2023 Honoree
Victoria Taite, RN
We had a patient get married on our unit, and Victoria was the charge nurse. In addition to the myriad of other duties that day (it was busier than a normal Saturday), Victoria planned and facilitated the wedding for the patient. It was spontaneous due to his declining status and his desire to marry his sweetheart.
Victoria didn't even know the wedding would be today until she arrived at the hospital. She took it upon herself to go buy flowers from the gift shop and make a bridal bouquet, maid of honor bouquet, and three other bridesmaid bouquets, along with three boutonnieres. She got nutrition to bring some cake drinks for them to celebrate with. She also served as the videographer so the family could participate in the ceremony.
The patient and family were so touched by everyone's support and involvement, but it would not have had those special touches if Victoria had not been there.

Thank you, Victoria, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
