Today, we recognize Victoria Trippe, nominated six times for the DAISY Award!
One patient’s husband wrote, “Victoria was our night nurse during one of the most vulnerable and overwhelming times of our lives – just after my wife had given birth. From the moment she came on shift, she brought a sense of calm, confidence, and genuine compassion that made an enormous difference for our entire family. As a newly postpartum mother, my wife was physically exhausted, emotionally overwhelmed, and adjusting to so many changes at once. Victoria never treated her as “just another patient.” She took the time to listen, to explain, and to reassure. She checked in frequently – not only on vitals and recovery, but on how my wife was feeling. Her kindness and patience helped my wife feel seen, supported, and safe.
Throughout the night, Victoria was attentive without being intrusive. She anticipated needs before we even had to ask, whether it was pain management, comfort measures, or guidance with newborn care during those first intimidating hours. She explained everything clearly and never made us feel rushed or like a burden, no matter how many questions we had.
What stood out most was Victoria’s compassion. In moments of anxiety and uncertainty, she offered reassurance and encouragement that went far beyond her clinical duties. As a new parent myself, I felt relief knowing my wife was in such capable and caring hands. Victoria’s presence allowed us to rest when we could and gave us confidence as we began this new chapter of our lives. We will never forget the comfort and support she provided during those first postpartum nights, and our experience was profoundly better because of her. She is truly an exceptional nurse and deserves commendation for the difference she makes in the lives of her patients and their families."
