To say that Viki exemplifies the type of nurse that our patients, their families and our staff need would be an understatement. She is a role model to everyone lucky enough to come across her path.
As an MSN and Clinical Forensic Nurse Specialist, Viki continually educates those around her. Her certifications extend into oncology, CRNI, External Jugular Cannulation, Vascular Access and Infusion Therapies. She is also a Nurse Aide Instructor, ABS, ACLS and PALS designee. Viki is a "walking encyclopedia" of knowledge that she freely shares with those not just within our own unit, but throughout the hospital. In her seven years at MGMC she has often sacrificed her own breaks and lunch time to answer questions or start difficult IV's for other employees, never letting a "not my problem" syndrome get in the way of patient care or excellent service.
Viki's attitude and example inspires everyone to improve. She believes in education, teamwork and knowledge sharing. To that point, she volunteers her time on committee's like the Infusion Alliance. This is especially helpful as her skills and knowledge of health information technology are critical in designing and shaping a successful future at MGMC.
I have worked alongside Viki for several years and continue to marvel at her intelligence and contributions to our hospital.
