My mentally handicapped autistic son broke his hip. Many nurses took care of him, but this nurse knew what he needed and how he felt. The nurse herself has an autistic child so she had so much knowledge on how to read his signs and feelings as he is not that verbal. I was so worried about him because of his mental disabilities. Her knowledge, experience, kindness, and emotional support helped my family's needs. I knew I could depend on this nurse for anything and always looked forward to hearing of my son’s day. I often seemed to be an emotional wreck, but after talking with this nurse, my day was always brighter. When my son was anxious and close to a meltdown, this nurse knew it was his wet shirt. This nurse had great ideas for some sensory toys that calmed him. This nurse could identify with all my concerns about my son and his care. This nurse was always available to speak with me. And this nurse patiently listened to all of my concerns as a mother. This nurse is a remarkable nurse and caregiver. Nothing seemed to rattle them. Vilay is a true DAISY Nurse.
