September 2025 Honoree
Vilma V Escusa, BSN, RN, TNCC
Vilma was at triage, and her gut told her the pediatric patient with a stuffy nose was sicker. The patient ended up being transferred to the PICU at Stanford. Vilma escalated her concerns to the provider and ensured the best care for the patient. Her advocacy for this newborn ensured that an underlying cardiac issue was caught early, potentially saving this patient's life. This is one of many occasions that Vilma's excellent decision-making has led to more positive outcomes.
Thank you, Vilma V, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
