When I walked into the room Vincent was sitting in a chair beside the patient's bed. I don't know the circumstances but the patient was sobbing and Vincent was consoling her. I was so moved by the caring and concern that he showed the patient. It was real.

SCU had a patient that had surgery and had many post-op complications due to her age and illness. She also had many admissions to the SCU in a one month time frame. Vincent took care of this patient frequently. He developed a rapport with her. He would call when he wasn't working to see how she was doing and he would come and visit her on his days off. Vincent displayed true empathy and compassion for this patient as he does for many others.
