I have had a pretty tough month. I had surgery and shortly after I had a stroke. I ended up having a bleeding ulcer that landed me in the hospital at Sunnyside for 4 days and then I had to come to the emergency room at Westside. After going through all of this I was exhausted and upset. My veins were no longer holding up to IV placement and after 4 tries by two different nurses, Vincent came in with the ultrasound and found a vein that would tolerate an IV. He could see that I was pretty stressed and made sure to use a numbing agent before placing the IV so that I felt nothing! My daughter was with me during the visit and could see that I was hurting and to have Vincent come in and calmly assure us both that he could find a vein and get the IV in was a huge relief to us both. I am an employee of Westside and everyone I have come into contact with during my care has been absolutely wonderful! I could nominate everyone for their care and help, however, Vincent stood out to not only me but my daughter for his efforts to assure us that I would get the care I needed and it would not cause me any more pain and stress.
