I had several terrific nurses during my recent open-heart surgery, but one nurse stood out above all of the others: Vincent Singh. Vincent combined kindness and compassion with terrific communication; he explained what we were doing as a team and *why*. His positive demeanor was infectious and made a huge difference in my post-surgery recovery. He gave me the confidence to move around the room and the unit, which has carried over to my post-discharge rehab (I am now walking five to six miles daily). Vincent was a great care partner during my time at UC Davis Medical Center.
