She saw my anxiety, my exhaustion, my fear, and instead of dismissing it, she reassured me.
As a first-time mom, these moments have been terrifying, filled with questions, doubts, and so much fear. It’s hard to understand everything happening, and even harder to trust that your baby is truly okay. But then there was Violeta. I truly felt like my baby and I were in good hands. Violeta didn’t just do her job; she cared. She saw my anxiety, my exhaustion, my fear, and instead of dismissing it, she reassured me. She came in every 30 minutes to check on my baby, not because she had to, but because she wanted to make sure we were both okay. And for the first time, I was able to sleep.
It wasn’t just the big things—it was the little things, too. Violeta thought of bringing my baby a heated blanket and showed me how to turn on the nightlight. She listened to me, she was kind, and she was on time. The level of care and dedication Violeta showed is something every parent in that hospital should experience. She completely belongs in pediatrics. The way she cared, the way she made sure we were safe and comfortable, was beyond what I ever expected. And as someone who is religious, I truly believe God sent her that night. He knew my body was exhausted, that my heart was overwhelmed, and he sent Violeta to watch over us. Because of her, we had a good night. She reminded me that kindness and compassion still exist in healthcare, and I will always be grateful for that. Thank you for going above and beyond when you didn’t have to. You made a difference, and I will never forget it.
