Nurse Ginger went above and beyond to make a patient feel special on her 81st birthday. The patient was hospitalized in the emergency department, waiting for a bed in the inpatient ward due to illness, and had just experienced a tragedy the previous month. Ginger brought the patient birthday balloons and a happy birthday card to brighten her big day, even though she was spending it in the hospital while unwell. Ginger demonstrated compassion and care for her patient while providing attentive care and understanding of the challenges of going through a tragic event and being hospitalized due to illness.
