From Virginia’s Patient:
Virginia was my nurse during the first 2 of my 3 visits. She stayed on top of things when I had a bad reaction to my chemotherapy. She called the doctor, acted fast, and got me through those bad reactions.
I am disappointed on the days she is not there. I kidded with her that since she wasn’t my nurse the 3rd infusion, and that she knows the most about me, she would have to contact the other nurse.
She is exceptional-wonderful. She makes it easier to come into the hospital for chemotherapy. She has leadership talents-and it was clear that co-workers look to her as a resource.
From her Co-Worker:
Virginia is a nurse who is always going above and beyond to provide her patients with the best care possible. She displays a strong commitment and great passion for oncology. She also demonstrates a great desire for more education and knowledge. She is currently in school for her BSN. She has attended multiple education offerings related to oncology and has been a part of the pain think tank at Simon Cancer Center. She frequently comes in on her days off to give chemotherapy to patients in need.
Virginia is a strong patient advocate, and if something is not right, she will work until it gets fixed. For instance, we recently had a patient admitted to AC4 with a diagnosis of sepsis. Virginia worked diligently all day long to ensure the patient received the appropriate treatment and ultimately getting the patient transferred to the appropriate level of care.
She develops a bond of trust with her patients-over and over.
We are so fortunate to have Virginia as part of the care team on AC4.
