A few months ago, my mother was being treated for a fever at GSH ED. My mother has been treated there numerous times but this time I was not sure she would make it out alive and this was difficult for me. The one thing that pulled me through was mom's nurse Vita. Vita was compassionate, caring and knowledgeable about my mom's condition she explained everything she was doing even though my mom was barely responding. She would talk to her, softly touch her and even smile at her. I watched Vita run around the busy hallways taking care of so many patients, helping her coworkers all with a smile on her face. Most importantly she never stopped caring. "Vita" means "life" and I told her she was a blessing to so many other lives. She is a great nurse and I can only pray for more nurses like her. Because of her my mother pulled through that visit and if she hadn't I would have felt at ease knowing that she died in the arms of a wonderful nurse.
