Vivian recently had a patient who was young and imminently dying. This patient was all alone; had no friends or family. Patient was a long term substance abuser, but Vivian saw past that and saw that he was kind and very afraid. Vivian held this man's hand for many of his final hours. After advocating with the physician for good pain management. I truly believe that Vivian helped this man as he left this world. I admire the care, respect, and dignity that she gave him.
