He asked for input and validated teaching and education for both mom and dad.
I am the mother of a patient who was delivered yesterday. My daughter is a little challenging when it comes to males caring for her medical needs. From the first interaction, LT Vladimir Pierre introduced himself and asked permission to care for her. He didn't say, "I'm your nurse," he asked her about her boundaries and made a plan for mom and baby together. He asked for input and validated teaching and education for both mom and dad. LT Pierre sincerely spoke to my daughter, and her thoughts and feelings were his main concern. If you have ever met my daughter, you would understand just how important this is for her. LT Pierre checked on her several times and followed up to make sure everything was ok. As a fellow nurse of several years, I've met many nurses. LT Pierre really made an impact on me personally, knowing my daughter was being well cared for. I would also like to thank him for managing his coworker, an ENS who was new to learning. We didn't say anything negative about the newer person, but he managed by explaining the importance of teaching the next generation of caregivers.
