I would like to commend Bonna Mamaradio for going above and beyond and for the compassion she had. I ended up in the emergency room with a kidney stone and had to have surgery that evening. Bonna was scheduled to end her shift, but to have the surgery, I needed the operating room, and someone needed to run the laser. She agreed to stay late and run the laser for the surgeon.

I had a trip planned for the following Wednesday that I had been planning for months. If there was not someone to run the laser, the doctor would only have been able to place a stent, and I would not have been able to go on my trip. Because she agreed to stay late and gave up her own time for me, the surgery was able to be completed. I would have had to have a second surgery, and she prevented that, and I was able to go on my planned trip. It was clear that providing excellent care was not just their job, but something they truly cared about.

I am grateful for her commitment and the kindness she showed me to make me more comfortable and have a better outcome. Without Bonna's unselfish act, my health and my well-earned vacation would have been at risk. I am truly thankful for her.
