When I arrived and discovered that my mother had been placed on the vent, Vonda took the time to comfort me and reassure me about my mother. She was the nurse who continued to care for my mother when we were making decisions about her care/treatment and again providing support and reassurance. When my mother had to have a procedure, she went with us, and made sure we understood everything that was going to happen. When my mother came back to the unit, Vonda was there making her comfortable and meeting her needs immediately.
