My mom has been at SLH for 23 days (and counting) and has finally been diagnosed with a-HUS a very rare blood disorder. Along this journey, she has also suffered from pneumonia, c-diff, and now endocarditis through complications from this disorder. She has undergone plasma exchanges for 13 days by the Red Cross and once the diagnosis was given we switched to a very expensive drug therapy weekly. Vyvy has been instrumental in ensuring the pharmacist has been in receipt of this drug (which my mom is the only patient to receive in the hospital). She has been the brightest part of her days and gives a level of care that is unparalleled. Now we are facing a biopsy of a mass in her lung and continue to receive the energetic bubbly thorough individual care that pushes my mom to keep a positive attitude through all of this. She is truly a DAISY Nurse to this very appreciative family!!
